Shared Signals

Direction for a culture-led programme building one visual language from many contributors — varied voices, single thread.

Audience filling the hall for a cultural programme

Overview

The programme gathers makers from separate disciplines, so its imagery had to perform twice over: lend every entry a shared spine while allowing each contribution to remain distinct.

The response was a compact founding idea — a restrained palette, a recurring framing method and a typographic tone — written plainly enough for any collaborator to apply unsupervised.

Approach

One language, many hands

Study began with the programme's existing output — posters, records, social fragments — distilled into a repeatable essence. Trials ran on authentic contributor material rather than staged mock-ups, so the framework earned trust before launch.

Stewardship stayed deliberately light: open office hours, a one-page crib sheet and a closing review of each release kept standards firm without slowing makers.

“Everyone began from the same page — the outcome feels collective without feeling identical.”
